The gray bar indicates the gap between your perception and the reality of Democrats' views. The Perception Gap score above is the average of all individual gaps. Positive gap numbers indicate overestimates of how partisan or extreme the other side is, while negative numbers indicate the opposite.

For several of the statements, we show the estimated disagreement level. This is calculated by subtracting the agreement percentage from 100. This allows us to compare the statements in a consistent way: all numbers approaching 100 indicate similarity to Republican views, while numbers approaching zero indicate distance from Republican views.
